THINNNNEEEEERRRRRR!!!

Sunday,
January
24th
Hi.

So yeah, it's January 24th and we have some releases.

I'd like to mention;

1- Big thank you to darknova, a new applicant, for helping us out on  these Holyland chapters. Moral of the story is, to increase the speed of releases for our scanlations, we need more staff. And seeing as there have been people applying and actually sticking around, we're getting work done. So, what are you waiting for? Apply! Read point #2.

2- That being said, we need one Typesetter for Shonan Jun'ai Gumi and one Quality Checker, among other things. Because the thing is, we only have a single Typesetter and a single Quality Checker, so we're spread very thin there.

Let's get cracking.

Boku to Issho ch25 (!Boku25) First chapter of the third volume, a joint with MangaScreener per usual.

Holyland ch72-73 (!Holy72 & !Holy73) This concludes the fight between Taka & Yuu, with a sweet looking double page. Hey, those of you who do color pages, color that fucking double and send it to me via email or just link it in this post from tinypic or imageshack.

Idiot Section Chief ch01 (!Idiot01) This is a gag series with the chapters being ~6-8 pages each. We're doing this as a side project, with inconsistent releases.

Shonan Jun'ai Gumi ch82 (!SJG82) Like I said in the other post, now that we have raws, we can work on this series faster. And like I mentioned earlier in this post, we need a typesetter for the series. If you're interested, apply.

Have a good one.

Releases, January 14th 2010

Thursday,
January
14th
Howdy.

Small release today.

We're still looking for staff, mostly cleaners. And a SJG typesetter. And someone to help clean Homunculus Volume 11. So, as usual, if you're interested in increasing the speed of the releases, help out by applying.

Sengoku ch21 (!Sen21) - Again, big thanks to l0ki for Editing this chapter. Not much else to add.

Shonan Jun'ai Gumi (!SJG81) - No, we didn't suddenly started re-releasing because the other shitty group started releasing. Like I've said since December, we've been waiting on the scanner. It just so happens the scanner had someone in her family had deceased and had other priorities. Now that she's back, we have some raws for SJG. We just got tired of the horrid webraws. Besides, 1,600 height px > 1,200. So assuming all goes well, 82 will be out in a few days.

We need a proofreader.

Sunday,
January
10th
Hi!

I'll spare you the annoyingly long post.

We need a proofreader, among other things, but I'm tired of not having someone to proofread the scripts for our translators.

So, qualifications:

-You use IRC and are easy to get a hold of.
-Self-motivated.
-Preferably experienced, with some idea how scanlations work.

So if this works for you, PM me on IRC. (Either GGpX, GGpX-Sleep, GGpX-Away or GGpX-Scanning depending on what I'm doing.) If I am not around, idle on irc as long as you can and I'll get back to you. If I'm still not back, leave me your email and come look for me the day after.

Thanks.

Releases, January 7th 2010

Thursday,
January
7th
Okay, three chapters today, two of them being oneshots. They were originally planned to be released with the New Years's Eve pack, but didn't make it and I was lazy as all hell this week to work on them. Too much time spent scanning stuff like FMP, Partner, Koukou Tough, Garou Den, and uh... what else did I scan anyway... Oh well, can't remember.

Hakui no Kanojo (The Girl in White Robes) is a short oneshot by Hisaka Mika. I really like this mangaka. She's really good. Not enough for her stuff has been scanlated, imo, but oh well. Such is life. Not nearly enough of Saruwatari Tetsuya's stuff has been scanlated either, but I'm working on it! Anyway, big thank you to Unproductive for translating this for us. Trigger is !Hakui

Priscilla (Oneshot by the artist of Yuria 100 Shiki) is something that got us sorta confused. This is definitely a oneshot, however, there is a chapter following this that came out a few days ago. Thing is, we originally picked this up because it was a fun little thing we could do when bored. If the next few chapters aren't any better than ch2, because ch2 is kinda bad, then we'll stop right here. If they get better, then we'll continue scanlating it. So for now, consider this a oneshot form us. Trigger is !Priscilla

Sengoku chapter 20. This is beginning of Volume 03. I don't really have much to say, to be honest... Big thank you to l0ki for applying to the group because he wanted to help out. He did the full Editing job, and did a pretty good job on it too. So big props to him.

Maybe if you're lucky you'll get a release or two over the weekend, depending on how much I want to scan...

See you.

New Years Eve Release

Thursday,
December
31st
Okay, so we're New Years eve, and since I promised another release before New Years day, here it is!

I'd like to say before that we need some staff. Cleaners mostly. So if you want to help us in 2010, please apply.

So we've released the following:

Battle Royale 2 ch16 (!BR16 or !Battle16) A new chapter of Battle Royale 2. Nothing else to add, really.

Good-bye by Tatsumi Yoshihiro (!GoodBye or !GoodB) Another volume scanned by Dille. You should really read this, it's awesome. And if you liked it, consider purchasing it to support the company that licenses the manga for US distribution.

Holyland ch71 (!HL71 or !Holy71) Newest chapter of Holyland. Hopefully ch72 won't take too long to do.

Homunculus Volume 10 (!Homun10 or !Hom10) Homunculus Volume 10 marks our 1,000th chapter released. Volume 10 ends the current arc, onwards to the final part of Homunculus!

The Strongest Legend (!Legend or !TheLeg) This is a 6-page Oneshot by Tohru Fujisawa, the GTO mangaka. This was at the request of Lordof, who's done a lot of stuff for us even though he has his own group to run.

We had other things we wanted to release today, but we didn't finish them. Some other time then.

Now for series info heading into 2010.

Battle Royale 2: We'll finish the series this year. Guaranteed.

Boku to Issho: Joint with MangaScreener, this is Nitouryu's project. We've fully translated the final two volumes. We hope to finish the series before the end of the year.

Full Metal Panic Sigma: I need a translator & a cleaner. I've already bought volumes 6-10, but I don't have any staff to work on it. So unless we get a translator application for the series, there won't be any new chapters for a while.

Holyland: We have trans up to chapter 73, but the delays come from the editing because the editing isn't easy. If we get constant translation, there will be constant scanlations.

Homunculus: Bought volume 11 this week, will be shipped to me sometime next week.

Jackals: The new translator who applied to translate it has suddenly gone MIA. We have chapter 17 translated, but after that... Who knows.

Koukou Tekken-den Tough: I'll be taking a little break from this to focus on other series. Don't know when I'll restart working on it.

Mephisto: The translator & Nitouryu are both busy with other series atm. Hoping to restart scanlating it soon.

My Street: Need a translator.

REAL: I finished scanning Volume 9 a few days ago, so we should get to work on it soon. No translation as of just yet.

Saru Lock We haven't had a release in a while because the redraws just destroy all the motivation of most of our editors. With the effort and time they put in to one chapter of Saru Lock alone, they could clean a full volume of Homunculus (Which is basically what happened).

Sekai no Longname: Most likely dropped since Kotonoha finished scanlating it already. Might do another chapter if the translator has some leftover scripts, though.

Sengoku: Need an Editor...

Shonan Jun'ai Gumi: Once we have scans of volume 9, we'll continue scanlating it. And no, I don't particularly care that Shitty Irrelevant Group #758389 has picked it up. They're just that, a shitty and irrelevant group.

Sidonia no Kishi: Volume 1 is in the mail, and we're waiting on translations for ch8-9 to scanlate them.

What a Wonderful World The translator is busy.

What the future holds: We're working on two oneshots at the moment, should be released soon. Unfortunately for you, there are new projects on the horizon.

As for our goal this year... Hmmm... We're at 1,008 releases atm... I don't have any particular goal for this year. Let's just hope we're alive and well by the end of 2010. And that Team Canada wins gold at the Olympic Hockey Tournament.

See you later.

So it's Christmas right

Friday,
December
25th
So for starters, Merry Christmas to all (Except the Germs) and a Happy New Year.

So it's the time of giving and receiving, right? Right??

So forget receiving, we've got lots to give.

I'd just like to say there was a lot of stuff we were not able to finish because we were shorthanded in terms of staff. So I'd like to give a big, big thank you to Nitouryu, who worked his ass off like crazy. He did a lot of work on what we've released, almost something on everything. If you want to help increase the release speed on some of our projects, help out by applying (Click here).

Boku to Issho ch23-24 (!Boku23 & !Boku24 or !BTI23 & !BTI24) - A new project we'll be doing along with MangaScreener, who did the first 22 chapters of the series. This will conclude volume 02. We've already translated the rest of the two volumes so hopefully this'll go by pretty fast!

Buddha v01 (!Buddha1 or !Bud1) - The tale of Buddha told by the God of Manga, Osuma Tezuka. A must read.

Elfen Lied ch102-107 (End) (!EL102 - !EL107 or !Elfen102 - !Elfen107) - And finally, we've finished this project after delay after delay... And we're happy! This was one of our first projects we picked up back in 2005, so this is long overdue. We put in a little something in chapter 103, so go check it out. Big thanks to Kaens & Anath for all their hard work on the series, as they will be closing down Oishii-Manga as of now. We will see what's next after this!

Full Metal Panic Sigma ch21-22 (!Sigma21 & !Sigma22 or !FMP21 & !FMP22) - The conclusion of volume 05 of FMP Sigma. You know, just a random thought, this series could move a lot faster if we had more staff, but I won't bother people with that too much today.

Holyland Volume 07 (Chapters 61-70) (!Holy7 or !HL07) - Here's a few volume of Holyland. Enjoy it.

Jackals ch16 (!Jack16 or !Jackals16) - The conclusion of volume 2 (Finally.) We've scanned & started working (Slowly) on volume 3. Maybe the next chapter released will be soon, maybe not.

Koukou Tough v05-06 (!Tough05 & !Tough06 or !Taffu05 & !Taffu06) - All I have to say is FUCK YEAH MORE TOUGH!! If you have the time, please check this out and vote.

RahXephon v01-03 (!Rah1 - !Rah3 or !Xeph01 - !Xeph03) - So I bought these volumes a few years ago. I don't particularly like the series, to be honest. But someone asked me to scan the volumes. I figured, eh, why not. So here we are...

Sengoku c19 (!Sen19 or !Sengoku19) - Conclusion of volume 02. We sure could use an editor for this right about now...

Sidonia no Kishi 6-7 (!Sido6 & !Sido7 or !Sidonia6 & !Sidonia7) Joint with Vagrant-Scans as usual. We'll try to catch up on ch8 & 9 soon while putting out tanko versions of the chapters we've already released.

All of that made a total of 73 chapters released, which is a little bit more of the 63 we released last year for Christmas + New Years.

At the end of last year, I set a goal of getting to 1,000 chapters released before 2010. We released 707 on New Years. We're currently at 995 chapters released. Das iz gud, ya?

So we're aiming for 1,000 before 2010 comes. Wish us luck.

What the future holds will be addressed on January 1st.

For now, enjoy.

Modern-day shit sucks.

Tuesday,
December
8th
So, yeah, modern day stuff sucks.

We've released the Abandon the Old in Tokyo volume by Tatsumi Yoshihiro (!Abandon) today. This volume contains eight short stories that you definitely should read. These are very good stories. This was scanned by Dille, who also cleans some stuff for Kotonoha, so if you enjoyed this, buy it in English and give him your thanks!

We'll be doing some more old-school stuff in 2010 surely. Stay tuned!
